The Sound of Discovery

Sound System

The space houses 22 bespoke speakers, all tuned for an intimate, enveloping sound experience. The centrepiece is a Bliesma 6-inch mid-range dome: a rare piece tuned to handle the core frequencies of 240Hz to 4000Hz with unparalleled clarity. Active and dual passive radiators extend the low end, while a ribbon tweeter crowns the ensemble: crisp, airy and forward without being sharp.

Music Direction

Music Manager Sean Gorham puts as much love into the soundtrack as the guest-artist line-up. The nightly mood spans Japanese jazz and Arabic soul to breezy bossa nova and beyond. “It’s about curation, not just putting vinyl on a shelf. It’s discovery, ritual, emotion,” says Sean. Mad Cats seamlessly transforms from an intimate dinner spot into a vinyl-fuelled bar as the night progresses.

Live Jazz Sundays

Every Sunday, Mad Cats reconfigures its layout to welcome a live ensemble, with performances running from 4pm to 6pm. The setup is intentionally intimate, bringing musicians and guests into closer proximity. Brazilian music has become an increasingly important part of our Sunday sessions: warm, vibrant and distinctly Mad Cats.

Staff Favourites

Lightnin’ Hopkins: the Texas blues master. Timeless, intimate and effortlessly human. A Tribe Called Quest: pioneers of jazz-infused hip hop, their laid-back grooves bring a different energy to the room.

Play At Mad Cats

Mad Cats is built on discovery and exchange. We’re always interested in connecting with selectors, musicians, labels, promoters and creative collaborators. Have something to share with the room? Reach out to sean@madcats.uk.
